Anthony “Amp” Elmore is producing the movie “Rock and Roll a Black Legacy” a movie about the African/American community of “Orange Mound” in Memphis. Elmore not only wrote Kenya and the Kisumu County the 3rd largest City in the country of Kenya in the movie, Elmore is proposing Kenya Governor Peter Nyong’o that he will allow Kenya Youth to shoot and direct the scenes in Kenya.
Elmore explains that these African youth may never get a chance to shoot a movie or get film credit or find connections in America. Via our coming to Kenya will bring excitement to Kenya. Elmore has 3 goals for his film 1. Education 2. Entertainment 3. Inspiration our filming in Kenya is “Cultural Diplomacy” in that we will connect Kenya to not only “Orange Mound” our plan is to connect Africans and African/Americans via culture.
In 1990 Elmore premiered his 1988 Memphis produced film “The Contemporary Gladiator” in Kenya. Kenya helped to change Elmore’s life whereas he was the 1st person to bring African/Americans on a Kenya Safari. Elmore introduced “Kickboxing in Kenya.” In 1995 Elmore married a Kenyan woman, whereas while they are no longer married they share a son Anthony “Amp” Elmore Jr. who at the time of this posting June of 2024 25 years olf
Elmore notes that it would be grand if the newly elected President Dr. William Ruto would come to Memphis and support the “S.A.F.A.R.I. Initiative” Academy Aware Winner and star of the Black Panther movie can affect American & African Culture via just coming to Orange Mound and teaching African/Americans about African Culture via eating some African food. African/American has no idea about Africa culture in that most images of Africans and Africa is negative.
